Mixed feelings about Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida

We are Mickey Mouse lovers so when the opportunity came for us to have a “play day” at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida this week, we were a little hesitant, but we thought – “what the heck” lets give it a go!

When we arrived to the gates waiting for them to open, we noticed the crowd waiting with us was ity-bity. Not exactly that way when you show up early to Disney Parks (which made us a bit skeptical) but we said we’d make the best of it anyways.

But, little did we know, we’d quickly go from skeptical to excited the more we became familiar with this playground. 🙂

We were first surprised at how shiny and clean the park was and then to top it off were all the glistening Christmas decorations for the season and festive upbeat and modern music that hummed in the background as we walked about. We couldn’t help but sing along and notice other adults enticing their kids to join into the chorus too.

There we are checking out Santa’s Sleigh… they had beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere!

If you or any of your loved ones are roller coaster lovers, then you’re gonna love it here! They are BIG and long and they twist and turn and go upside down like you’ve never seen!

There was our view while upside-down on one of the coasters… they really did have some crazy rides there! 🙂

We were pleasantly surprised to notice these coasters were state of the art. They were smooth and quiet as they ran along the tracks giving us a sense of trust in riding them, not fear- and that’s saying something considering their massive size and speed!. We’ve never seen that before in any park.

Oh, and if you like seeing animals, well you’re in luck. One magical experience we had was a Tiger who stood inches away from us. We could appreciate every detail of his magnificent existence. We could see the gloss and specks in his eyes, the individual course hairs and how they separated from his orange strips…

… because we were so close we could get a real perspective on how gigantic he was compared to us – his snout was the size of Nancy’s head… Yup, now that is a BIG cat! Not to mention that one of his front bottom teeth was the size of two of Shawn’s thumbs put together.

Seriously, his nose, as big as Nancy’s head!! 🙂

As you can imagine, that experience right there was worth the $80 (per adult) we spent to get in.

And they didn’t just have cool tigers there, they had some pretty awesome Chimpanzees there too!

There’s so much we could tell you about our day at Busch gardens (including the fun water rides & great shows) but we don’t want to spoil it for you- so we’ll tell one more thing and a tip.

After the first attempt (it was completely full, no seats left) we finally got to see the Christmas themed skating show and boy, was it good. The talent and the costumes were incredible. So, if you want to ensure you get a seat – arrive 20 minutes early.

As you can imagine, if you asked us if we’d suggest going to Busch Gardens, our answer would be an obvious YES! 🙂

Have a happy theme park day the Busch way, you’ll love it!

By the way, if you want to check out some of our pictures from our week here in Tampa you can do so here.

We Appreciate You,
