Face to Face with a Great White Shark

This morning we’ve zipped up our suitcases and had one last white linen breakfast service to say goodbye to edition number 26 of “our time at sea”.

Yes, it was another fantastic cruise!

Over the coming days we’ll make sure to put out a recap of our experience onboard and of our visits to Aruba and Curacao, but in the meantime we came across a fantastic article that we know you will enjoy reading…

shark cage tour

The blog is about something we have on our bucket list but haven’t had the chance to do it yet, but our friend Nellie from Wild Junket, who is a fantastic writer and avid traveler, wrote of her experience standing in a cage and being inches away from Great White Sharks in one of the highest populated waters in the world, Gaansbai, South Africa.

What we liked about the blog was that she lived to write about it afterwards… 🙂

… No, just kidding… what was great was learning about how, against popular belief – Great White’s are not vicious human killing machines and if you, like us, are thinking of trying a shark dive but chickened out, then this read will give you the confidence to take the next step and try it.

Have a look at Nellie’s video and pictures here and…

Happy shark encounters! 🙂

FYI, when we leave the port here today we’re heading up to Orlando to hang out with Mickey & Friends at Disneyworld for the week so we’ll talk to you soon from there.

We Appreciate You!

Nancy & Shawn
