Many people will even tell you…
…Kauai is the most beautiful Hawaiian Island of them all…
…and for a good reason!
While enjoying our visit to Kauai this time, we did a driving trip around the southern part of the island to see the spouting horn, did some picture taking of rainbows, visited a coffee farm, checked out the tunnel of trees, and took in some of the spectacular waterfalls on Kauai.
After all that, we did a 5 hour Wailua River rafting and hiking tour. It was so much fun (as you’ll get to see from our Kauai video below) and we did things that we had NEVER done before!
Yup, we walked across a river that was at one point chest high, no kidding (can you say “fun!”) and we ate
our lunch sitting in front of a Kauai waterfall that
was so high (150 feet to be exact) and so powerful, that it sent a nice cool breeze our way as it fell…
…and it was welcomed after that 45 minute Kayak and 35 minute hike we just completed!
Sooner then later though, we had to say goodbye and headed back the same way we came in which was fine with us because the Wailua River we traveled down was perfect! It’s Hawaii’s only navigable river by kayak or river boat, lush with colossal greenery and mighty because it is fueled by nearly 440 inches of rain each year.
By the way, we did today’s tour with Kayak Wailua, Kauai… as you can tell by their name, they specialize in this area and it’s easy to tell as the tour ran super smooth! Our guide, Terada, knew the area inside out, was super informative and they had great equipment! We highly recommend them!
You can imagine, we we’re starving after that full day of adventure in Kauai and ready for a good meal. So, some locals told us about this place called Mermaids Cafe, so we had to stop in for a bite! Fish Tacos… yummy! 🙂
Without further ado, here’s a video below of our great time in Kauai today.
We hope you liked the video & here’s to you Cruising to Hawaii soon and enjoying some time on the Beautiful Island of Kauai!!
We appreciate You.
