Here are some of our pictures from our vacation in Alaska last week… enjoy!

Here's a picture of the tram ride that goes up Mount Roberts in Juneau, Alaska

A popular thing to do in Juneau is to ride the tram up Mount Roberts… definitely the best views in town!

Here's a picture from when we went Whale watching in Juneau, Alaska

During a couple of our visits to Juneau we’ve went Whale Watching and it truly is one of the best places to do so… they even guarantee the sightings during the summer season and we haven’t been disappointed yet.

One thing is for certain, Juneau is a colourful town!! πŸ™‚ Surrounded by Mountains it’s definitely one of the prettiest Alaskan towns you’ll ever experience!!

Here's a picture of the famous Red Dog Saloon in Juneau, Alaska

Make sure when in Juneau to drop by the famous Red Dog Saloon which was the 1st & only game in town during the gold rush era. And make sure to try the Alaskan Amber Ale… it’s really good! πŸ™‚

One thing we love about visiting Skagway, Alaska is that there are tons of great activities and tours to experience there… here’s a small sampling.

When we 1st visited Skagway in 2008 we took the famous “White Pass & Yukon Route” train ride… we loved it and definitely recommend to experience it for yourself when in town!!

There’s Shawn posing by an old style Skagway street car… if you want to learn about the town’s famous “Gold Rush” history make sure to do the tour in one of these beauties to learn all about it.

What a great shirt we saw in Skagway!! πŸ™‚ It truly puts into perspective how big Alaska is… sorry Texans, you’re big compared to the rest of the mainland States but not to Alaska. πŸ™‚

When in Skagway this time we hiked the famous “Chilkoot Trail” that the prospectors used back in the late 1800s to make their way up to the goldmines in Canada near Dawson City… if you want to get active in Skagway it’s a great, historic hike!

And after the hike we floated down the Beautiful “Taiya River” back to our starting point… we definitely had a great day in Skagway!! πŸ™‚

One thing we’ll never get tired of in Alaska is experiencing the dramatic Glaciers they have up there… today was our first time in Glacier Bay National Park so definitely a highlight… there’s Shawn taking in the “Margerie Glacier”.

The size and formations of the Glaciers is truly stunning… you really need to see it with your own eyes as the cameras don’t do them the justice they deserve! πŸ™‚

There’s a stunning shot of the “Johns Hopkins Glacier”… that’s the best part of Glacier Bay… there are several major glaciers in there so the beautiful scenes keep on showing up while there! πŸ™‚

No trip to Alaska would be complete without visiting Ketchikan… the “Salmon Capital of the World” and the 1st Alaska town that appears when travelling North from Canada. Nancy definitely looks happy to be here today!! πŸ™‚

Like many of Alaska’s towns there’s lots to do in Ketchikan… we’ve Kayaked there, we’ve watched Bears feeding on Salmon during a floatplane ride we’ve taken… there’s non-stop activities including a horse drawn carriage ride around town. πŸ™‚

Make sure when in Ketchikan to visit famous “Creek Street” where during the summer you can see the salmon swimming upstream to make their way home to spawn… a truly incredible site as they come by the hundreds of thousands!
