Our visit to Waimea Canyon and Kalalau Valley Lookout in Kauai, Hawaii

Yesterday we mourned the loss of all those who lost their lives on 9/11

…today we celebrate our 4th wedding Anniversary and 8th Anniversary as a couple but isn’t this the way of life?

We take the good, we take the bad and then we do the best with what we have been given, right?

Speaking of…

…yesterday we had a blast visiting the Waimea Canyon and Kalalau Valley Lookout in Kauai, Hawaii… check out our video below.

Wasn’t that some very spectacular scenery!

By the way, some tips for you when taking these sites in.

Don’t do what most people do, which is, get to the Waimea Canyon Lookout and not go any further. Keep driving about 15 minutes more to the Kalalau Valley Lookout and you’ll be greeted with some of the most spectacular views.

And don’t stop at the Mile marker 18 lookout for the valley… go to the very end of the road (5 mins further then the Mile 18 one) where the views are truly way better!!

Plus, if you’re into a little hiking, you’ll be rewarded even further if you go past the lookout with even more incredible views that will take your breathe away!

If we had to do it all over again (which we will someday), we would pack a picnic, and enjoy it at the park/Kokee State Museum which is 10 minutes before the Kalalau Valley lookout and then head out and do the Canyon Hiking Trail.

It’s suppose to be one of the best, if not the best, hiking trail in the area.

Now, we must say goodbye as we have some celebrating (a beach/snorkel day and nice dinner later :-)) to do for our 4th Anniversary! (if you’ve read our Free eBook you know that we love to celebrate our assets: aka the relationship we have with one another, for us it truly is our biggest asset!)

We hope that you feel the same way too! 🙂

We Appreciate YOU,

Nancy & Shawn
