Your Home Town

This is definitely a fun one for us… hearing & learning about where you’re from!

This area is where You & our readers can “show off” a little. 🙂

If you think you’ve got a cool home town… tell us about it, what’s unique there, what the highlights are, why we or our readers would want to go there, etc.

Downtown St. John's Newfoundland Houses

Us, for example, even though we haven’t lived there for quite a while, we’re originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada.

It’s the most Eastern point in all of North America… if you think New York or Toronto are on the East Coast there’s a lot more past those places! 🙂

Newfoundland is an Island all on it’s own… no roads in or out… by boat/plane are the only ways in & out.

St. John’s is referred to as “North America’s Oldest City” as it’s the oldest English-founded city in North America… being the closest point in the “new world” to Europe, that makes sense. 🙂

The scenery is spectacular around Newfoundland with the rocky shores that have been formed from the Atlantic Ocean.

Whale watching, Ice Bergs, National Parks, we have it all back there.

St. John's, Newfoundland's famous signal hill lookoutAnd make sure when in town to visit Signal Hill, the best lookout in the City… it’s also where Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal from in 1901… there is  lot of history where we come from! 🙂

So there you have it, a “Your Home Town” example… we’d love to hear yours!!

Simply leave a reply at the bottom of this post and…

…thanks for sharing!!

We appreciate You!

Jackie & I live at Lake Anna, VA.
Our postal address is BUMPASS, VA.
The locals pronounce it bump ass!
It was supposed to be the bedroom community
for the miners in Mineral, VA.
But the gold rush of 1849 got all miners to leave.
We hope to visit NL next year.

      Hi Peter,

That’s a funny version of your hometown for sure!

We have a home here in St. John’s, so if you have any other questions about NF be sure to ask. We’re sure you’ll find the people very welcoming.
